The company and challenge

Epoke is a leading European manufacturer of equipment for slippery roads control with a strong global position through a wide network of distributors. Selling the highly customizable and advanced Epoke products requires in-depth knowledge about valid product features and possible combinations. The distribution and implementation of updated product knowledge to a wide network of distributors has traditionally been quite resource intensive, slow and with high risk of errors. 

The solution

With the implementation of the standard web configurator solution from 3Dfacto critical and verified product knowledge is now distributed instantly and automatically to distributors worldwide. The standard solution consists of a web based user interface linked to the ERP system and a modeling environment for managing the product knowledge. Within one month the existing product knowledge was migrated to the new solution, integration to the ERP established, and the web user interface customized to the needs of Epoke.

Results

The standard configuration solution greatly expands the capacity by removing bottlenecks in the sales support, eliminate costly errors and improve professionalism of the users based on the Epoke specialist knowledge stored in the system. Results are greater operational efficiency with 35% savings in sales support administration and 100% elimination of quotation errors.  With the new configurator solution Epoke are able to expand their geographic presence and sales results without increasing costs of sales as new distributors can jumpstart the sales process with access to Epoke expert knowledge and automatic guidance to best practice.
